I already have a photographer.  Do I really need a videographer too?

In my opinion, yes you do.  But video has not gained the same prestige as photography quite yet so some couples are still questioning its importance.
I suppose I could put it to you this way.  At one touch of a button, you can sit back and relive your wedding day from start to finish.  I had a groom call to tell me the day was so overwhelming.  He said it was a great comfort to sit back and take it all in at his own pace.  He didn’t remember songs the band played or even the toast from his brother.  I’ve had couples tell me that their photographer missed a certain moment (like when the bride put her head on the groom’s shoulder during the ceremony) and it made me smile to tell her “I’ve got it.”  I try to stay at the reception hours after the photographer goes home.  We’ll be there to capture every moment of your wedding day.  The last point to make is simple.  You can’t hear a photograph.  Sound Image is called by this name because we capture all the messages, vows, toasts, songs, and laughter of your special day.

What’s the best way to find a reliable videographer for my wedding day?

Well I should say you just found one and look no further but to help you make your decision; I would encourage you to ask potential videographers for brochures, testimonials, and demo videos of their weddings.  A demo is not always the best indication of a videographer’s skill as they can edit out the mistakes and you are left wondering about the audio quality with vows, music, etc.  You should seek out a completed video from the company to ensure consistent quality throughout.  Demos and sample videos may be sent to your residence upon request.  Please call the number under contacts to receive samples of our work.

Why is it necessary to have two videographers recording my wedding?

It is absolutely imperative to have at least two videographers present at the ceremony.  Two ‘shooters’ is better than one because it doubles the visual angles the editor can choose from, and gives him the ability to choose the best audio quality.  At Sound Image, we use a wireless microphone to capture the vows but this mic is not always the best choice for capturing singing or instrumental pieces played at the ceremony.  Finally a second camera operator positioned at the back of the church will ensure adequate coverage for the newlyweds’ first kiss and the walk up the isle.  For these reasons, we offer packages strictly with two camera operators.

When should I expect my video to be complete?

The time it takes to make raw video footage into an artistic masterpiece depends on the amount of footage and how many weddings are being edited before your video.  The video is usually complete two months after the wedding day. 

My uncle John is recording our wedding.  Do I even need a videographer?

Honestly, we’re talking about two different things here.  Even if old Uncle John had another camera operator along with his camera, he probably doesn’t have a wireless microphone, tripod, camera light, the editing and authoring software, or years of experience and formal training in wedding videography to deliver a comparable product. 

Who will record and edit my video if we hire Sound Image?

The owners, Brian Beno, and Brian Posslenzny will record and edit your video.  We do not sub-contract out to other videographers because consistent quality is at the heart of our success.  We have worked together for years to develop a formula for delivering unique style and quality.  Rest assured, your video will be produced by two of the most qualified and experienced professionals in the business.
